Saw your pics, that's a clean looking SS. Where did you get it tuned at and what is it putting down on the dyno?

It was tuned by Matt at Tune Time Performance, in NJ. I don't remember, somewhere around 330.
Commin next month or so, gettin the trans rebuilt, new converter, E-Fans, underdrive pullies, and the SLP Cat Back.

But, IMHO, a 5000 lb truck, runnin 13.40s at 108 in the 1/4 mile is not bad

No, not at all man. I was just curious what those SS's put down numbers wise. The true test is at the track for sure.

13.40! Wow thats damn impressive. What does a stock TB SS run? And forgive me, but I don't know much about the TB SS but is that AWD or do you select between 2WD and 4WD?

Indeed, faster then a Lightning and much more practical!

There is a 2WD (mine) or the AWD. Thats it...
Mine stock was 14.50
The tune, CAI and headers took a whole second off

Nubs had a Whipple on his SS Silverado and only ran 14's. Serious launch and 60' issues

The truck barely trapped 90 mph... it wasn't traction issues.

Nubs didnt have an LS2. The 6 liter in the SS SIlverado is not an LS motor it is a vortec motor. I think stock it makes like 340HP So closer to like 240-250 after the AWD steals what it needs.

The SS comes with the 6.0L high-output V-8 from the Escalade, rated at 345 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque, coupled to a 4L65E four-speed automatic. Standard also is all-wheel drive, making the SS the only sport-pickup so equipped; it won't outrun a Lightning, but it will keep up in the rain, and it offers more seating than any sport pickup.

It was never really a fast truck, more of a marketing gimick. It was a sweet looking ride with a mediocre at best power train.

Didn't the SS Silverado's come with the 6.0L LQ9 block? Same with the Escalade I thought.

Yep quoted a site in my last post.

I know it was a Vortec engine but wasnt labled as such.

From what i read it uses the same architecture as the LS motors, but not the same materials and specs.

SO the same size engine LS2 vs LQ9, same displacement the LS2 makes 65-70more hp.

All i want to see is the LS9 in a Trailblazer or something it doesnt belong in. THat would be a sick truck.

It's a very common swap among Fbody/GTO owners. It's what I plan on doing when I switch over to FI somewhere down the line. Grab a LQ9/LQ4 iron block and stroke it out to 408ci, forged internals and throw some boost at it. It bolts right into the GTO, uses the same heads, intake, cam, etc...

Stock, on the factory window sticker, it said, LS2 6.0 V8 395 HP
And yes, the Silveraldo SS is a V-Max 6.0 enigine. Not the LS

Not doubting that, just what engine the Silverado SS has.
