2002 Subaru Impreza WRX from Calvert

Hey All, My Name Is Bobby, I Drive A 2002 Subaru WRX. Was At Budds Creek Yesterday And Saw A Car with the SOMDRacing decal on the window. figured id check it out. ive seen some of these cars on here on the road. i live in chesapeake beach, and work in prince frederick. also chill at the local kmart in fox run with all my other car buddies. enough with me (wanna know more hit me up) but on to the car. my car has TurboXS Intake, TurboXS tbe (Turbo Back Exhaust). will be getting more things for it sooner or later. i did end up buying things for looks (nite shaded the taillights, got projector headlights with back housing, and aftermarket grill all from seibon) ran at the track (never launched off the line because being a DD i want to upgrade the tranny before i do that, looking at clutches and a pfitzner tranny) anyway i ended up running 15.2 @ 95 mph (which if you know mph to time ratios with me just driving eaisly off the line) i should be 14.2-14.5's.

yeah i saw it. fast as hell. i was pissed because everytime i ran, i ran against some super fast car....ughh lol. yeah i like the headlights on it. everyone says it flows with the grille and has a "Tuxedo" look to it, nice to meet you guys :D

well what happened is, my car has a lot of miles, so i didnt want to launch my dd and break it, since the bug eye subarus have shitty trannys (thats y im getting a pfitzner tranny) but from everyone that races (and has fast cars of my friends mustang guys, evo guys and srt4 guys) they said i should of had anywhere between 14.2-14.5's but it was because of my launch.

yeah i wouldnt mind the 2.5, im looking at going JDM 2.0 (JDM EJ20) thier version is faster, stronger, and more hp than americas EJ20) it sits at 285 hp (because its JDM Bugeye STi motor, cuz american never made my bugeye a STi)

Nah man, I wish it were the X MR, but it's just a Lancer GTS. Maybe later on down the road I'll get an X but not until $$$ flow is steadier and I've got the wife a new car. Until then.. It's just a Lancer with some bolt-on's and a tune.

well thats not bad, bolt ons and a tune. thats what i need now is a tune. i bought the rex for 7 grand and since its paid off, im lookin at a STi (could piss my best friend off and get an EVO like he just now got) but i cant backstab my subaru bretheren haha.

ive been in lex park at night time when we have our friday/saturday night cruises. my friend alex has a SRT4 just like yours but side mounted tag and the "eyelids" on the headlights along with a 12 second 1/4 mile time setup :)

gotcha gotcha, got any more pics of her? looks good from what i see so far. my friend ran a 15.2 at 70mph yesterday at MIR (Cobalt SS Stage 3 with Meth Injection) Reason it was 15.2 at 70 instead of his normal 12-13 sec setup, was fuel cutoff at 70. he needs a retune real bad

trap speeds can be deceiving.... I ran a 12.7 @ 75 and an 11.0 @ 110 yesterday

95 mph with AWD, could go as low as 13.8-13.9 with an awesome launch and a killer 1-2 shift.

I used to live in Prince Frederick, and in Huntingtown before that...so its been up that way plenty.

I dont usually go up to the Saturday show in PF too often, i think ive had the car up there once in the past few years.

I don't see many street cars at all running 8's... sure you see race cars do it but they are usually so far removed from the street car at that point its no use comparing them. Damn near every part has been removed/replaced/reworked.

You dont see STI's in the 8's big deal. Not a reason to say that Evo's are better.

If that were the case then All the hondas in the 8's and above would be superior then both evo's and wrx/sti's

And as for the sound of the boxer engine, i absolutely lovely the sound of subarus, that exhaust tone is one of my favorite sounds in the world.

Subarus will also almost always outlast an evo, or any other car for that matter, you could have an sti with 250k+ miles and still be running fine.

To each his own i guess, but i will be sticking with Subys and Chevys, oh yeah and Infiniti...

yeah i have to make up for lost time. my first car was an automatic chevy beretta, so this car has to make up for it. turboxs intake and tbe for it, and some things for looks. but its going to be my money pit. least it is worth putting money into ya know, rather than a pos. im converting it to a JDM STi, with the jdm EJ20 from japan (which was thier sti motor for that time.) 280hp. then getting STi spoiler, and cf hood/trunk. itll take time, rome wasn't built in a day ya know

Nothing Austrilian about the engine... the G8 GT has an L76 and the GXP has an LS3.

i know im a little late on the reply but i just wanna put my 2 cents in about the rivalries. im an Evo guy all day but i still admire a nice/clean STI every now and then, Floyd is right about the sound of the boxer. it sounds like the car has been smoking was to many cigarettes. and the Evo just looks meaner, the stis body is too curved and realy pink emblems?! and i would have to go with chevy, The only desecent car that Ford makes is the mustang and the GT.....It doesnt matter what car you got though, it comes down to how fast you can get those 4 rubber wheels movin

I believe that... I was in the market for an Evo but they were all ragged out and beat. STI's for the most part were cleaner but much higher priced, seemed to really hold their value.

Its not really that STI's and WRX's last longer it that every single person that owns an EVO runs the piss out of it. I know a few dudes with one and I honestly feel bad for the poor car. No lift shifting, bouncing of the rev limiter, pulling 1st gear up to redlind just for the hell of it. They beat the crap out of them. Subie guys seem to take better of their cars

Hmmm, I suppose, but that'd take a lot of dollars. Power to do it maybe wouldnt cost too much, big budget would be in beefing the box to not fold like a pretzel when you hit the gas:) A buddy who got one as a loaner when his new 1986 chevy pickup was awaiting a part/tool that wasnt made yet let me drive it.

It was a piece of crap, truly, but like a really bad movie, it was a hoot to drive. It was so bad, I spent the whole 20 minute drive laughing like a maniac. First laugh was opening the hood and not seeinf engine, but the spare tire, which was stored on top of the enginedisgust
